Frégate is a private island only 20 minutes by plane from Mahé. It is just a mile long and less than a mile wide. Accommodation is in 16 beautifully appointed private villas. Each villa has a separate bedroom and drawing room.
Egyptian cotton sheets, antiques, Asian artwork and a sun deck linked by steps to a private jacuzzi and gazebo-style lounge area combine to create a romantic retreat, sympathetically coexisting with the island's fragile ecosystem. Frégate is the home to the rare Magpie Robin, the Seychelles bush warbler and the Dutch Dove.
There is no entertainment in the evenings but you can have private in-villa dining or dine at the gourmet a la carte restaurant in Frégate House. Champagne breakfasts or picnic lunches can be arranged on a totally private beach.
The island, surrounded by it's own coral reef, is ringed by seven beaches which you can explore in your private villa "golf buggy". The lush vegetation is very tropical with coconut palms, bamboos and sandragon trees. Much of the fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices employed by the hotel's kitchens are indigenous to the island.
