Denis Island

Thirty minutes flight from Mahe, Denis is a pearl in the Indian Ocean. You step off your small, light aircraft, are met by the management and immediately whisked to your own private villa. Its exotic atmosphere and scenery blends with an unspoilt paradise for escapists, divers, nature-lovers and romantics.

Dense with palms, takamaka and casuarina trees, the island is ringed by soft sandy beaches and the bluest and clearest seas offering excellent watersports and unrivalled swimming.

Lying close to the picture postcard beach of Denis are the guests' Lodges. These are elegant, well appointed air-conditioned cottages. There are only 23 of these. There are two larger luxury cottages, one being for families with two bedrooms and the other perfect for a honeymoon.

All the cottages have wide verandas as well as a private courtyard with "outside" garden shower.

The Lodges' unique style blends a relaxed charm with service and comfort of an exceptionally high quality, while a cosmopolitan cuisine and delicious Creole specialities are offered by Fabrice, their in-house chef.

A true get away from it all experience. There are no telephones or televisions in the guests cottages. Bliss. A personal favourite of mine!
