Trou aux BichesSet in a palm-shaded grove in the Northern region of Mauritius, Trou aux Biches sits along one of the best beaches on the island, with two kilometres of white sand and crystal clear waters setting the stage for blazing sunsets, treating guests to views of one of the most stunning seascapes on the island. Since closing in January 2009 for major renovation works, the original Trou aux Biches hotel was completely demolished and has been rebuilt with an investment of £60 million as a tropical village-style resort, featuring a series of luxury Suites and individual Villas dotted amidst an expansive tropical park. Great importance has been placed on preserving the resort’s unique atmosphere, something that is apparent when strolling through the spectacular lush gardens which have been carefully protected throughout the project. Guests of Trou aux Biches will enjoy the ultimate in privacy, space and serenity, surrounded by nature in one of the most magical spots on the island. A collection of Pavilions sit in crescents throughout a shady palm grove, each comprising three to four spacious Suites, of which there will be five categories Junior Suites, Tropical Junior Suites, Family Suites, Beach Front Suites and Beach Front Senior Suites. Some Suites will be equipped with outdoor showers, tucked away amongst tropical greenery adding a touch of romance! All Suites will be spacious and sophisticated, with elegant design and furnishings. For added wow-factor, the Beach Front Suites will have private pools and enjoy prime sea front locations. In addition to the Suite accommodation, the resort will offer 27 stunning two and three bedroom Villas which will represent the last word in luxury island living. Each of the six restaurants is designed to make the most of the warm climate and focuses on specialties sourced around the globe, prepared by world-class chefs. From the authentic Thai and Indian restaurants to refined European gourmet cuisine, beach BBQs and local delicacies, Trou aux Biches will offer high quality dining. The Spa comprises a string of individual thatched pavilions quietly tucked away amidst palm trees and exotic plants, centred around a tranquil pool. Treatments will be with the classically luxurious Clarins brand, and the spa will be equipped with a balneotherapy room, an algotherapy room, an Ayurvedic room and 17 massage cabins, including six double cabins and one dedicated to shiatsu and Thai massage, as well as two saunas, two hammams and a hair and beauty salon for those finishing touches. A Bob Marlin Mini-Club featuring its own restaurant for children aged 3-12 years will operate alongside a teens club for older children. Fun activities include glass bottomed boat excursions, hand painting, sailing, small-line fishing, snorkeling, tennis and waterskiing, offered on an age-appropriate basis and expertly supervised by fully qualified staff.
