LUX* Grand Gaube

This LUX* resort is situated in the heart of Grand Gaube on the North-East Coast of Mauritius. It opened its doors in December 2003, introducing the concept of Feng Shui to the island of Mauritius. The Feng Shui philosophy originated in ancient China and is based on the principle that human beings must live in harmony with themselves and their surroundings. Its concept is based on the five elements of water, earth, wood, fire and metal.

All 198 rooms at the hotel reflect the Feng Shui concept. Metal is the main element of the hotel’s 126 superior rooms, water in the 46 deluxe rooms, wood in the 23 Junior Suites, earth and fire in the Ming Mange villas and all five elements in the Emperor Villa.

All four-hotel restaurants also make use of the colours and flavours of Feng Shui. They include The Gingko, which is the main restaurant. La Bastide, for those who enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. Abalone located next to the pool with stunning sea views is predominately a seafood restaurant or if you want gourmet cuisine in a peaceful setting, Karma. This restaurant offers a fusion of French cuisine with Asian touches.

For true pampering try out The Source which is the hotel’s thala spa. The complex includes two jacuzzis, a salt-water swimming pool and a high tech gym. Massage, beauty treatments and a hairdresser are also available.

There are extensive watersports activities, floodlit tennis courts and mini-golf. Tai Chi and yoga classes are offered. A local band entertains guests every evening. There is also a cinema, which shows modern up to date films.
