Le TouessrokLe Touessrok is the pinnacle of luxury offering total contemporary sophistication. Located on the east coast of Mauritius, the hotel is in two sections, the smaller part being on the Frangipani Island and linked to the main complex by a spectacular wooden bridge. All the suites on Frangipani have stunning beach or ocean views. It is also where the Givenchy Spa, a lap pool, a hairdresser and the Matt Roberts gym are located. On the mainland, the hotel’s architecture is striking with whitewashed walls contrasting black volcanic rock. Accommodation includes the rooms and suites of the Hibiscus and Coral wings. There is a wonderful array of restaurants and bars. On the mainland is Three-Nine-Eight, the main restaurant which is split into three levels and features the cuisines of nine countries. Safran offers classical Indian fine cuisine and is set around a tandoori oven kitchen. Alternatively you can eat at Barlen’s for beachside dining offering light, contemporary Asian dishes. Le Touessrok has access to two tropical islands, each reached by a free and regular boat link taking 10 minutes to each island. Ile aux Cerfs which is open to the public is the focus for all the beach and watersports activities. There is a boathouse, two restaurants, two bars and a small market and is a bustling hot spot. The stunning 18 hole championship golf course - designed by German golfing legend Bernhard Langer - opened in 2003. By contrast the tranquil Ilot Mangénie is for the private use of Le Touessrok guests, and is a real Robinson Crusoe-style hideaway. The island has a bar and a restaurant which serve barbecue-style lunches daily and brunch on Sunday. Le Touessrok has a kids club catering for children from 2 to 11 years old. It also has its own Peter Burwash Tennis Club. As well as being uninhibited, contemporary, romantic and stylish Le Touessrok has all the qualities one would expect of a world famous luxury hotel. |
