Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort

Located in the South, Le Telfair has been developed on the site of one of Mauritius’ best kept and most jealously guarded secrets, the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre. Developed on 15 hectares of the estate, Le Telfair nestles between the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the lush green slopes of the new 18 hole championship golf course at the foot of a mountain.

The 158 rooms and suites are accommodated in 20 villas created with a Colonial style and architecture, reminiscent of the last century. All the rooms have dark timber floors and painted timber wainscoting, ceilings and architraves in a French colonial style. Each bedroom is fitted with a ceiling fan and a spacious ensuite bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower and separate toilet.

In the Main Restaurant, Annabella’s, guests can select from a range of cosmopolitan specialities or create original dishes with the Executive Chef. Designed on four levels, it affords stunning views of the sea, the mountains and the river, while the terrace is perfect for a starlit dinner. Open from lunch through to dinner and built on a stretch of white powdery sand, the Seafood Restaurant’s ambience is tranquil and relaxed. Fish and the freshest seafood are served with an unusual Asian/Japanese influence.

The Mediterranean Restaurant, located between the beach and the pool, offers light, Mediterranean style cuisine, influenced by the flavours of open wood fired cooking. Open throughout the day, it’s the ideal spot for those who want to enjoy the pleasures of the sea without pause. A beach service is available for residents wishing to make the most of the sand, sun and sea, and Room Service is available 24 hours a day. The Chateau de Bel Ombre creates a refined yet intimate ambience in which to savour cocktails, tea or perhaps a typical French Mauritian gastronomic meal. Lunch is reserved for light and informal Mauritian cuisine, and the dress code is similarly informal and casual. However, the evenings usher in a change of mood, where haute cuisine and elegant evening wear set the tone.

The 18 hole championship golf course was designed by Matkovich & Hayes from South Africa. The course adjoins the hotel which residents have access to by golf cart via a private pathway.

The Six Senses spa village includes nine double sized treatment rooms, each with a private garden and open-air shower. To preserve intimacy, two outdoor gazebos are furnished with a pool and private relaxation area. Massage tables are surrounded, at the same height, by rim-flow pools conducive to relaxation. The Presidential spa suite offers the widest range of treatments with exceptional comfort, private pool with a rest area complete with a four poster bed. Saunas, steam rooms and cold water pools are available in both ladies and gents areas. The spa offers an extensive range of treatments.

Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort boasts a special children's Miniclub Ti Marmite which is open from 8:15am to 11:30pm daily, and welcomes children from the age of 2 to 11. Personalised baby sitting service and special amenities for infants and toddlers are also available.

The huge nature reserve of Bel Ombre, spreading over 3500 acres, presents a unique environment for jogging and strolling while observing the numerous birds, butterflies and deer in their natural habitat. Mountain or quad biking, as well as trekking, are other options available.
