In the travel tourism sector, Susie Freeman Travel (SFT) is an independent consultancy selling direct to the prestige end of the market. The company was established in 1998 and Susie has built up a quality portfolio of hotels and applies her own personalised star-rating system to all her chosen hotel, villa and game reserve accommodation. Each hotel is personally endorsed by Susie for both quality and service. This has become SFT’s unique selling point.

Strong business relationships have been developed with the national airline and many of the major hotels in Mauritius. SFT clients are predominantly club or first class passengers. Initially, Susie started in business by organising a charity ball in Mauritius with the support of Air Mauritius and The Residence. Her strong organisational skills combined with her numerous business and society connections, led her to create her own business brand, Susie Freeman Travel over 12 years ago. SFT has since expanded to offer tailormade holidays not only to Mauritius but also to The Seychelles and Southern Africa.

In the UK business sector, SFT has built an excellent affiliation with the Inns of Court in London and has arranged travel for several legal conferences. SFT is also trusted to make confidential travel arrangements for many TV celebrities and personalities from the UK.

As a major charity fundraiser both in Mauritius and in the UK, Susie’s high profile activities include

• Support for the Diabetes Association in Mauritius by donating £1 per passenger to this charity since 1998 and running a half marathon, raising a further £12,000

• Raising over £80,000 for the Army Benevolent Fund, a charity in the UK supporting servicemen and women overseas and returning injured soldiers to their families

• The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch - Susie has now added her expertise to the fundraising committee for 2011 and plans to actively promote Mauritius through this prestigious and well-attended event

• Sponsorship of the Susie Freeman Trophy Race at Port Louis racecourse

• SFT maintains a high marketing and PR profile for Mauritius by taking advertorials in most glossy magazines in UK with privileged partners like Air Mauritius, Beachcomber, Le St Géran and Constance Hotels. By working with business partners it allows SFT to measure how effectively the advertising converts to sales

• SFT has arranged journalist trips for Tatler, House & Gardens, The Financial Times, The Telegraph and The Independent.
